CASTINGS

VG Classic Frames supplies Harley-Davidson frame castings for Knucklehead and Panhead models from 1936 through 1957 – produced for builders who demand historically correct details and proper factory appearance. Every casting is based on documented original components and carries the correct casting numbers, making them suitable for accurate Panhead and Knucklehead restorations. We are the manufacturer – these are the same castings we use in our own frame builds in Hengelo, the Netherlands, made available separately for restorers sourcing individual components.

Major components – including frame heads, motor mounts and repair sections – are cast using the lost wax process, which ensures sharp detail, clean surfaces and precise reproduction of original casting marks. This is the same method used in period production, and it shows in the result. Generic replacements cast by cheaper methods cannot reproduce the surface quality and dimensional precision that the lost wax process delivers.
Our casting reproductions are also designed with repair in mind. Upper frame head repair castings, for example, make it possible to repair a cracked neck without replacing the entire head casting – maintaining structural integrity while preserving as much original material as possible. Every casting reflects correct proportions, correct casting numbers and proper visual detail consistent with original pre-1958 Harley-Davidson production.

The range covers saddle cross members, engine front mounts, engine transmission mounts, sidecar mounting brackets, footboard mounting brackets, oil tank mounting brackets and axle mounting brackets – for both Knucklehead and Panhead applications, with compatibility clearly stated per product.

If you are building a complete frame alongside individual castings, our Knucklehead frames and Panhead frames are built to the same standard. Individual tubing, sheet metal parts and machinery parts are also available separately.
