PANHEAD

VG Classic Frames manufactures Panhead frame replicas for the complete 1948-1957 production range – from the first wishbone frames of 1948 through to the late straightleg design that closed out the Panhead era in 1957. Every Panhead frame replica is built in-house at our workshop in Hengelo, the Netherlands. We are the manufacturer – the same workshop that developed the original VG frames and supplies them to dealers worldwide. Buying direct means no middleman, no markup, and technical knowledge that no dealer can match.

The Panhead frame range divides into two families. The wishbone frames – produced from 1948 through early 1954 – are defined by the curved lower frame tubes that give the early Panhead its unmistakable silhouette. We offer the 1948, 1949-1951, 1952-1953, and early 1954 wishbone frames as separate models, each correct to its production year specification. The late Panhead straightleg frame, introduced mid-1954 and produced through 1957, represents the most refined frame the Panhead era delivered – cleaner geometry, updated neck casting, and a distinct visual identity that sets it apart from the wishbone years.

Every Panhead frame replica is delivered bare with a certificate. All cast componen#ts carry the original casting numbers as used by Harley-Davidson in period production.

If you are sourcing individual components alongside your frame, our Knucklehead castings, frame tubing, machinery and sheet metal parts are manufactured to the same specification and available separately.
